The Lover's Game -- While you wait!

Prologue

I’ve never been good at love. In fact, most of my adult life has been a witch’s brew of failed attempts at lasting relationships. Now, most of us want to blame the other person for our misery but for real, we need to also hold the mirror up to our own faces at times and realize that we are tore up from the floor up and we had just as much responsibility in the messiness as the other person. It takes a real ass person to admit that. I’m not saying by any means that there are not bad people in the world. 

There are those who should be banned by all three branches of the federal government--under the laws of God and men, from entering a union with another human being. But of course, that’s not the truth most of the time. With this being the case, it is up to us to use the wisdom and intelligence that the Creator has bestowed upon us to choose our paths in love wisely. As soon as I fully comprehend how to do that, I’ll share it with you. In the meanwhile, we bump our heads along the way until we find that one… 

And my friends, I believe that that time has come for me. Did I just say that? Yes, I did. You see, in the twisty, complicated universe that is my life truth just set in for me. I can now tell this story for all of those who search for love only to have it slip away through your fingers like trying to grab a handful of fog. It is my hope that my story inspires you all to look inside your own hearts to find what is there and then follow whatever that is when you find it. Honestly, it wasn’t until I did that very thing that I found love like never before. 

Just like any good story, before I can take you forward, I must go back, it’s a must that we look at the past in order to understand the future of this tale. There was a time when this philosophical view of love and relationships didn’t exist and I was just a lonely, love-don’t-live-here- anymore type of guy. It would have hurt like hell to share my story back then but thankfully; I was released from the pain through redemption and what a beautiful journey it has been. I know I sound like Deepak Chopra-meets Iyanla Vanzant or somebody but like the old folks say, you see my glory, but you don’t know my story…not yet anyway. So, like the elder folks, I’m going to go back but not too far. This part of my journey began just a few years ago…
