Vision “Mac” McAllister
I leaned forward with my forearms on the table. “So, what is this, you want child support or some shit? You know I’m still going to need a DNA test. I don’t give a fuck about you saying she stole my face. After a while, all of us light skin niggas look alike.”
She giggled at my words, but I was serious as fuck right now. How the hell do you just pop in on someone’s life after three years like, oh by the way I’m your baby’s mother? I had too much shit to do right now than to play with this girl. I’ve never been a really playful type of person so I’m not sure why she’s trying the shit today.
“I expect you to get a DNA test. That’s the only way you can ease your doubt about her being yours. Oh, and no, I don’t want child support. Actually, I’m here to give you child support,” she coolly said.
A frown creased my forehead. “Wait, what? What does that fucking mean?” She had me confused a fuck right now.
Her phone dinged and she unlocked it. She looked at something then started texting. Yeah, I didn’t have time for all this shit. I needed her to stay focused. I tapped my fingertip on the table to bring her attention back to me.
She put her phone down with a huff. “Mac, my husband lost his job some months back and it’s been hard. Well, he did get a new job, but we have to move to California. He is refusing to take Cassia, that’s her name. He said he is not taking care of a baby that’s not his and I have to respect his wishes.”
There is no way she’s serious right now talking about how she has to respect her husband’s wishes. See, I just feel like she is the type of person that the lord finds it hard to love because there was no way he was happy with the ways of her right now. What kind of woman? “You respecting your husband wishes means what exactly? I need you to say what the fuck you’re going to say, Carrie.”
“What I’m saying is, my family is moving to California, and we are unable to take her. Since you are her father, I thought I would give you first refusal before I put her in the system. I love my daughter, but I can’t ruin my marriage with three children for an illegitimate child,” she said with conviction.
I was not a man that was surprised by too many things, but this had me stomped. Did she really just say she was giving me first damn refusal like her daughter was a cookie or some shit. She showed absolutely no remorse as if she was negotiating a business deal. “This is a joke, right?”
