“You see something you like?”
“I do. I have for a while now. I'm done trying to look on the sly though. You got a problem with that Breesha?”
“Actually, I find it to be a turn on.” She answered honestly as she searched for the remote.
“Good to know Red.”
“So, you wanna watch Netflix and chill Sincere or— wait, shit! That didn't come out right, what I meant was if you want—”
“Red, chill sexy. I know what you meant but honestly the only thing I want is your undivided attention. I noticed you had a big ass balcony off your bedroom the last time I was here. How about we go chill under the moonlight and you give me a chance to find out more about the woman behind that sexy smile your always got on display.”
“You've got yourself a deal.” She turned around to face him but never stepped away from his embrace. “But only if you tell me more about the sexy man who keeps trying to sweep me off my feet.”
“Lead the way Red. But be careful how you swinging them hips. I'd hate for you to slip and fall and end up in your bed with your legs on my shoulders.” Once outside, he complimented her with, “You got a dope ass view here beautiful.”
“Thanks. Yeah, it’s pretty great. This balcony is really what sold me on the place.”
“I can see that. Tell me something though beautiful. What sold you on me Red?” Sincere asked with a sly grin as he rested his arm against the back of it.
“Well, this may sound crazy Sincere but something about you makes me feel insanely free, a little bit naughty and safe. And like, I can be me with no judgment. I've never been so intensely aware of my body before you. Oh my God, I can't believe I'm admitting this.”
“Why can't you Red?”
“Because it’s not me. I don't share myself like this. Normally, I would've been down to fuck and move on to ensure shit would never get complicated. It’s not me to be sitting here keeping company with you and allowing you all up in my personal space. But with you I'm enjoying the air and the peace that comes over me when we're together. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before Sincere.”
“Maybe it's because you've finally found your peace on earth in the vibes and energy I give off.”
“I think you're right. Your presence alone has got me so intoxicated. I don't trust myself around you. You make me crave things I never have before.”

“Do you have an appointment?” the woman asked as she checked her computer. I checked the time and it was around lunch time, maybe I missed him. I prayed I hadn’t, but my luck was not always on the up and up.
“No, but you can let him know Charlotte is here and it’s really important.”
“Sorry, I can’t do that during his conference time.”
“Tell him there’s a woman with no panties on and it would be in his best interest to see for himself,” I said with a wink. Her lips curled into a smirk and nodded. Her fingers got to going on her computer and within five seconds the man of the hour waltzed through the glass doors with the stride of a gazelle and a smile I would never forget.
“Thank you, Sam, I got her from here,” he said as he led me to his office by the small of my back. When I got past Sam, I couldn’t stop giggling at the look on his face and hers. Shit like that only happened in the movies but I had to pull something out of my hat. I wasn’t leaving here today without seeing him and ending this lockout.
“Charlotte, you’ve surprised me once again,” he said as he sat on the edge of his desk with his hands clasped in front of him. He tilted his head and chuckled, causing me to do the same.
“I’m a lawyer and sometimes you have to just push your way into a situation,” I uttered with a wink. My eyes roamed the entire length of his big, brawny body and a hot flash took over my entire being. The man was beautiful and so youthful looking.
“I love a resourceful woman. How can I help this woman with no panties on?” he asked attempting to remain professional in his massive glass office. There was no privacy whatsoever.
“Sir, I just need five minutes for my business proposal. Do you have the time? I know you are a busy man.”
“I’m listening,” he said with his pointer finger under his chin and an unwavering gaze. I was doing all I could to stay in character. On the drive over, I decided that the same way I carried myself at work would be the same way I carried my ass in here and got his attention. If I wanted to, I could break a solid nigga down to pieces. As he untightened his tie, I knew my exposed thigh, open posture and unconventional solution to three days without hearing his voice had his attention.
“Some days will be good, some days will be easy, and others will be hard, long and trying but with a little work and patience on both of our behalf we can remove the fear of the dark shit that looms ahead, I think we should pick up where we left off,” I expressed.
“Three days was a long time without hearing your beautiful voice, Charlotte,” he smirked and came to sit next to me. He was invading my personal space with a soft hand on my knee. My knee had never felt so sexy or undeserving of attention. But as he grazed it, the air in my lungs became constrained. It had been way too long. His hand continued to travel up my skirt and it got harder to breathe, his finger grazed my inner thigh and my eyes darted to the raised fabric. “Oh, you lied I see.”
“I had to say something to get back here to you. Your secretary wasn’t having it any other way.”
“Next time, leave them home. Now what do you have to say for yourself,” he asked as he continued to caress my inner thigh.

Taj
A faint smile crossed her lips but that was it. She couldn’t force herself to give any more than that. Ricky’s eyes grew sad for her while he examined his Baby's face. He wanted to tell her the truth so bad but he couldn’t bring himself to upset her on her day or betray Indie’s trust. He almost wanted to force Indie out of hiding so her disposition could change. Instead of spilling the tea all over the table, he looked around her tiny apartment and let a sigh escape his lips.
Taj licked her dry lips and hummed. “Ricky…”
Turning his head back to face her, he replied, “What’s up?”
“How do you …you know… handle this loss? He was your best friend and you seem fine. Maybe it’s me, I know it’s been four years and I should get over it but how?” Looking up at Ricky with her big eyes filled with sorrow, Ricky hummed and took a seat by her. “I feel guilty as hell for being happy…like how dare I be happy when –”
“Baby, you know that man loved you…right?” Ricky questioned and watched as Taj nodded. “He would want you to be happy. Everything you got right now, is everything he wanted for you and more. There’s no guilt in that. Even Bubba would want you to be happy. I know if they were here, they would be so proud of everything you’ve done and everything you’re going to do.”
Taj let out a heavy sigh and blinked a few tears away from her eyes. “I miss them but today I miss them more…I keep telling myself not to look up in the crowd tomorrow because they won’t be there.”
Ricky rubbed his hands across his jeans and sucked in a deep breath. Watching Taj go through this was hard for him. It took so much for him to stand by and watch as she bounced back and forth with her emotions for years. Even after rounds of therapy she still wasn’t completely okay with everything. But who would be? She watched the tragic end of people she loved. The hardest thing for Ricky to do was watch her process and know that if Indie came back home all of this emotion would go away. And her infectious smile might return. And her process would strengthen. And her love would no longer be caged inside of a corridor of her heart lonely to nutriment.
