Synopsis:

A Thief and a Librarian...

Although they may seem like an unlikely pair, when love is in the air and in search of a new host, anything can happen.

Sophee O' Shea is newly single after a long relationship with her bum of a boyfriend Dru ends. Growing up in foster care, she understands and values history, but history was not as kind. After his countless excuses and broken promises she refuses to allow history to make a fool out of her anymore. As she sets out to remove Dru from her life, she runs into the man who doesn't take no for answer.

Deacon Sinclair is not afraid to take exactly what he wants, when he wants, from who he wants. In fact, he wants it all, and that includes Sophee. When he lays eyes on Sophee, he knows that with her by his side the normal life he's dreamed of is on the horizon.

With jealous friends, conniving exes, and his secret on his back, a few things will come and try to halt his plans. Will Deacon be able to steal her heart and have it all? Or Will Sophee be the challenge of a lifetime?

SNEAK PEEK

“You done?” he questioned with his lips turned into a sneer. The man was not fazed by my actions and I could feel him underestimating me with each second that passed. Once that started to happen, I felt compelled to prove my point and show up and show out. Mr. Bright as the sun would regret thinking he could as he stated before, handle me. I couldn’t be handled.

“Excuse me?”

“Are you, Sophee Marley O’Shea, done with all the extra bullshit? Have you not heard that you catch more flies with honey?” he asked causing my eyebrows to bunch together in confusion. His body language read control, he was in control of the situation and I was not. It was odd that I was even allowing it. Whether it was leaving abruptly, causing a scene or changing the subject smoothly I always remained in control. But with Deacon and his glare I couldn’t find the way to make that happen. I feared he would shut it down much like he had already done multiple times.

Looking in his dark brown eyes, I knew that I was up against a different class of man. He wasn’t going to go back and forth with me. He damn sure didn’t take kindly to my outburst and bullshit as he called it. And I don’t think it had anything to do with this being a bank. Deacon Sinclair didn’t like confrontation. He didn’t thrive in bullshit or confusion.

I smiled and answered, “Yes, I’m done for now.”

“Good, when can I take you out?” he asked, my neck snapped, and face bunched showing my twenty-eight-year-old wrinkles. Did this man just ask me on a date? How did I not see that coming with lust dancing in his eyes every time we made eye contact? As he placed his muscular arms on the desk, I could only imagine the unlikely situations that would calm me down. Shutting the blinds, straddling him and riding him as his strong arms steadied the ride, yea that would calm the rage stirring in me. I loved a man that didn’t mind putting a woman in her place. I would forget I had a place for a piece of him. Shaking my head, my curls bounced as I got that vision out of my head.

“Did you really just ask me on a date after I told you what I needed?”

“I heard you loud and clear, you single now.  Dru Williams is no longer on your account and your pissy ass fifty five dollars are safe. That means it’s time for a man like me to swoop in and save the day,” he laughed which caused me to laugh also. Yep I was in the bank cussing and fussing about fifty five dollars, but they were my pissy ass fifty five dollars. Dru being the piece of shit he was wouldn’t care about the amount. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wouldn’t be in later looking to remove those very funds. I knew Dru, in fact, I had known him most of my life and back then we did what we had to survive. Times hadn’t changed for him. You couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks
