Finding Candy - Sneak Peek!

On October 27th, Monae Nicole returns with a new release and she has a special sneak peek for you to read below.

As I was pulling into the driveway I noticed two children playing near the front gate. When I stepped out of the car and grabbed the first couple of bags, I saw that the kids disappeared. I never saw them go into the house or anything. Weird. I looked around because it was way too quiet. The only thing that could be heard were the crickets chirping. The wind had picked up a little more giving the air a chilliness to it.

Not thinking too much of it, I continued to make my way towards the front porch.

“Happy Fall!” The same kids I just saw just popped out from beside a car that was parked in the driveway. Little bastards scared the shit out of me. I chuckled then kept on going.

It had gotten a little darker as I continued to unload the groceries from my trunk.

Suddenly the front door opened and who I was assuming were the children’s parents, stepped out onto the porch.

“Oh you can leave the gate open, Cannonball isn’t here.” She stated it like I was supposed to know who the hell Cannonball was.

“Cannonball is our dog.” The man responded, he must have noticed the look of confusion on my face.

These people were creeping me out and I was ready to just get the hell out of here.

I had finally placed the last item on the porch and damn near ran to my car.

The weird kids were standing there waving at me as I backed out of the driveway. They did that creepy ass wave people do in scary movies. The more I backed away, the more their bodies turned to continue to wave at me. And they had these scary ass smiles on their faces.

Holy shit that was weird. I finally breathed a sigh of relief when I completely made it out of the driveway and away from their house.

I decided that I wouldn’t do any more orders tonight because it was too dark and I shouldn’t be out here alone.

I was about two miles or less away from the weird family when my car decided to shut off.

“No, no, no.” I cried. This couldn’t be happening to me right now. I tried to start up over and over again but it just would not come back on.

“AAAHHH!” I yelled out to no one since I was alone. Checking to make sure my doors were locked, I called AAA to let them know of my situation and where I was located.

Dispatch told me someone would be out to help me in forty-five minutes or less so I started to read a book on my phone.

“Bang!” My head popped up when I heard a loud bang right outside the car but I didn’t see anything. Luckily I looked up and was able to see the tow truck driver heading my way.

Thank God. The longer I sat here, the more I was getting nervous. It was too dark and I had no clue if that family was going to come get me or something. I chuckled at my thoughts because wasn’t nobody coming to get my ass. I probably need to stop watching so many horror movies.

As I stepped out of the car to talk to the tow truck driver, I felt a hand covering my mouth.
